NYAIGS is funded entirely through philanthropic grants and individual donations and accepts no corporate funding from AI companies or any other commercial entity. All events are free to attend and open to the public.
NYAIGS is committed to independence and transparency in how it operates. Our leadership recuses themselves from any decision in which they have a conflict of interest or perceived conflict of interest.
An actual or potential conflict of interest arises when a member of NYAIGS leadership has a personal, financial, or professional interest that could – or could reasonably appear to – influence their judgment or actions. This includes, without limitation, decisions relating to an organization (a) that employs the member or from which the leadership member receives compensation or other material benefit; (b) in which the member serves as an officer, director, partner, member of leadership, or in a similar fiduciary or advisory roles; or (c) in which an immediate family member of the member is employed, serves in a leadership or fiduciary capacity, or holds a material financial interest.
Pursuant to our policies and procedures, a member of leadership with a conflict of interest – or a potential or perceived conflict of interest – must disclose it and recuse themselves from participating in any deliberation or decision related to that matter.
